Does ChalPronto integrate with Square?

Yes. ChalPronto integrates natively with Square through one-click OAuth — no API keys to copy and paste, no Square partner program required. Once a Square seller connects their account, every new ChalPronto order pushes directly to their Square dashboard, KDS, and kitchen receipt printer in real time using Square’s Orders API.

Does ChalPronto integrate with Toast?

Yes, through Toast’s email-to-kitchen path. Every new ChalPronto order is emailed as a formatted ticket to the restaurant’s configured Toast Order Receiving address (or any auto-print kitchen inbox). Real-time delivery in seconds, no Toast partner program enrollment needed. Direct Toast API integration is available where the restaurant’s Toast plan allows self-issued API tokens.

How does the Square integration handle order status?

Bidirectional in real time. When kitchen staff marks an order Prepared / Ready / Completed in Square’s KDS, the status mirrors back to ChalPronto via webhook within seconds. Conversely, when staff updates status from the ChalPronto dashboard, ChalPronto pushes that change back to Square. The customer’s order page reflects the latest state regardless of which app the staff used.

Will I get duplicate orders if I have both Toast and Square configured?

No. ChalPronto enforces a single-POS rule: when Square is connected, the Toast email bridge is automatically disabled for that account. Owners pick one POS in their dashboard Profile, and only the corresponding integration runs.

What happens if my Square connection breaks?

A reconcile cron runs every 5 minutes that pulls authoritative order state from Square for any business with a connected account. If a webhook is dropped or our service was mid-deploy when Square fired an event, the cron catches up the missing updates within 5 minutes — guaranteeing the dashboard and customer order pages converge on Square’s state.

Do I need a paid Square or Toast plan to use ChalPronto?

You only need an active Square or Toast account in good standing. ChalPronto integrates at the order-push layer; we don’t require any specific paid tier on the POS side.
